The Hundred is the first of The Hundred series written by Kass Morgan. It has been adapted into a series by CW.

Glass is a Phonician and she secretly dates a Waldenite boy named Luke. She eventually falls in love with him. On her birthday Luke presents her a earthmade gold necklace and a pendant with the letter G carved in it. They sleep together that day. Few weeks later Glass finds out that she is pregnant. She decides to break up with Luke to protect him from the council. She goes to see him at his house but he isn't at home but his friend Carter is. Carter has found out Glass has slept with Luke and he wants her to sleep with him. He tries to force himself on her. Luke arrives home and Carter quickly release her and sit on a chair. He says Glass was teaching him some dance move. Glass is angry and disgusted. She breaks up with Luke and uses her anger and disgust towards Carter to make it seem real. She leaves after returninng the necklace Luke gave her.
Eventually the council finds out she is pregnant and she is arrested for violating the Gaia Doctrine. When the guards drag her away she falls down some stairs and miscarries. Councellor Jaha comes to visit her in confinement and asks who is the father of the baby. She refuses to tell the father's name. Even when Jaha says her cooperation will be considered at her retrial. He says they are going through her retina scanners and they will eventually find the father with or without her help. Afraid that they might find out the father is Luke she says the father is Carter Jace. Carter is later confined and executed.
